About Me
About Me
Hi, I’m Vinnie
I’m a Husband, Dad, IT Professional (Focused on Network Planning & Implementation, Google Workspace, and HIPAA Privacy & Security), amateur photographer (focused on nature, history, flora and fauna), musician, and tech enthusiast. Originally from Central Florida, I’m now based in Southside Virginia.
I’ve been passionate about technology since my family got our first computers and digital cameras back in the mid 90’s. My tech hobby turned into a career in the early 2010’s, and I now spend my free time tinkering with tech projects, exploring new and unique spaces with my family, playing music, and snapping pictures.
I enjoy helping others find the best tools for their needs, and capturing the small beautiful details in the world that bring me a sense of peace.
Now that you've got an idea of who I am, see what I can do below.

For the past decade, I've thrived in technical environments, building expertise in network and systems administration across Cisco, Sophos, and pfSense platforms. Beyond the infrastructure, I'm passionate about empowering others. I'm highly proficient in both Microsoft and Google's productivity and cloud storage suites, as well as Adobe administration, ensuring seamless workflows. My 10 years of Google Workspace administration experience combined with 9 years managing on-premise and cloud-based VoIP systems showcase my ability to navigate complex technical landscapes. My leadership style leans towards an involved and growth-oriented approach, fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
EXPERIENCE
Director of Information Technology | July, 2014 - Present | FIVE18 Family Services
My career at FIVE18 Family Services in Lynchburg, VA has been a journey of growth and innovation. Starting as an IT Coordinator, my dedication and passion for collaborative problem-solving allowed me to climb the ladder to Director of Information Technology. I work closely with leadership to develop strategies both within and outside of the IT field that contribute to the organization's success. One of my proudest initiatives is pioneering an open-source support model to empower local nonprofits, and I'm excited to see where that leads! Beyond technical expertise, I prioritize user experience. This is reflected in my consistent 95% annual customer service rating and my leadership in transitioning the organization to a successful remote/hybrid work model during the early weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic. My commitment extends to infrastructure improvements, leading network overhauls and overseeing the launch of a secure intranet site for staff. I'm also a champion for best practices, developing AI policies and leading three successful Voice over IP transitions, resulting in significant cost savings.
IT Support / Administrative Assistant | March, 2011 - June 2014 | Envision Marketing
My foundation in an IT career began at Envision Marketing, where I honed my technical skills by supporting senior staff and assisting with network administration. I tackled a variety of tasks, from building and deploying servers to managing client inventories valued at half a million dollars. My role even extended beyond the technical realm, as I helped to ensure the smooth operation of direct mail campaigns and shipping logistics. This diverse experience instilled in me a well-rounded understanding of IT support, and wider perspective on organizational success.
